Processing, packaging and handling

The extra requirements for processed food products can be found in Chapter 16.9.2 in the KRAV Standard. For multi-ingredient products, ensure that the additional requirements are met for each of the ingredients by  using the checklists for the primary products, when required. If additives are used they  must be in accordance with the list of additives in KRAVs Standard, Appendix 2. Not all additives which are permitted according to EC regulation 834/2007 are allowed.

Primary production

1. Crop products that are neither cultivated in greenhouses, nor sprouts or mushrooms
There are no additional requirements except for those that are required for all products.

2. Greenhouse products, sprouts and mushrooms
The extra requirements for greenhouse products can be found in chapter 16.7.3, for sprouts in 16.7.2 and for mushroom cultivation in 16.7.6 in the KRAV Standard.
There are currently no standards that KRAV recognize that meet the extra requirements for greenhouse products, sprouts or mushroom production.

3. Wild harvest production
The extra requirements for wild harvested products can be found in chapter 16.7.5 in the KRAV Standard
There are currently no standards that KRAV recognize that meet the extra requirements for wild harvest production.

4. Dairy products
The extra requirements for dairy products can be found in chapter 16.8.2 in the KRAV Standard

5. Eggs and egg products

6. Beef and beef products
The extra requirements for beef products can be found in chapter chapter 16.8.4 and 16.8.5 in the KRAV Standard.
There are currently no standards that KRAV recognize that meet the extra requirements for beef and beef products.

7. Sheep and goat meat 
The extra requirements for sheep and goat meat can be found in chapter chapter 16.8.4 and 16.8.6 in the KRAV Standard.
There are currently no standards that KRAV recognize that meet the extra requirements for sheep meat and muttom products.

8. Pork and pork products
The extra requirements for pork products can be found in chapter chapter 16.8.4 and 16.8.7 in the KRAV Standard.

9. Poultry meat
The extra requirements for pork products can be found in chapter chapter 16.8.4 and 16.8.8 in the KRAV Standard.

10. Aquaculture
Large tropical shrimps, so called scampi cannot be KRAV-labelled, regardless of certification (see KRAV Standard chapter 16.9.1). Other products from aquaculture, which is certified according to the EU regulation, can be KRAV- labelled if they meet the additional requirements that apply to all products.

11. NOP
The extra requirements for products certified according to USDA-NOP (National Organic Program of the United States Department of Agriculture) can be found in Chapter 16.10 in the KRAV Standard.
