The KRAV label is a registered trademark. KRAV's name or label may only be used on products from production certified according to the KRAV standards by an authorized certification body.
The KRAV label must always be accompanied by the name of the producer or marketer, which preserves the credibility of KRAV certified products.
Chapter 1, Labelling and Marketing, of The KRAV Standards specifies how the label may be used. The Certification body controls that the rules are followed for labelling of products and packaging for display and shipment.
Code
KRAV certified products must also be labelled with an official EU code that is unique for the certifying body responsible for inspection and certification.
The Best Way to Use the Label
It is best to place the label on the front of packages. Sales increase when the label is visible on store shelves. The KRAV label should however not overshadow the company’s logo.
Suggested Text Formulations to Use With the KRAV Label
- KRAV labelled food is produced without chemical insecticides and herbicides and artificial fertilizer. By choosing KRAV labelled food a contribution is made to a better environment and an open landscape with biological diversity.
- KRAV certified animal husbandry stimulates animals’ natural needs. Animals are raised according to strict ethical and environmental requirements.
- KRAV certified organic products are grown, inspected and handled according to KRAV’s standards for organic production.
Note: The KRAV Label is Not a Producer’s Label
The KRAV label only guarantees that a product is genuine, in other words that it really is organically produced. However, the KRAV label never guarantees the quality of a product - this is done by the producer. In other words, the KRAV label should never be interpreted as a producer’s label and should not dominate over the producer’s or company’s logo. The KRAV label should be used in its entirety.
